Alliant in Action: 2024 A Year of Impact, One Community at a Time

In 2024, Alliant teams nationwide used Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to support personal causes, from packing food to raising funds for medical research, making a difference from San Diego to Charlotte.

Check out the highlights from our incredible year of community engagement below!

Fighting Hunger Across the Nation

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges in our communities. This year, Alliant volunteers moved literal tons of food to ensure no one goes hungry.

  • Silicon Valley & Sacramento: Our San Jose team sorted an impressive 5,232 lbs of tomatoes, while Sacramento packed 11,750 lbs of food.

  • The Power of Packing: In Spokane, we partnered with Generation Alive to pack 3,744 meals, while the Atlanta team prepared 1,300+ nutritious meals for the chronically ill.

  • Feeding the Future: From Kansas City to Orange County, our teams sorted everything from sweet potatoes to school backpacks, helping local food banks like Second Harvest and St. Mary’s meet record demands.

Walking for a Cure & Honoring Our Own

2024 was a year of powerful health advocacy, including deeply personal tributes to our colleagues.

Honoring Connie Klingler

We lost our dear colleague Connie Klingler this year. To honor her memory, "Connie’s Crew" participated in the Walk to End Lupus Now, becoming the top fundraising team with $35,879 in donations. Connie was always the first to support others; we are proud to continue that legacy in her name.

The SGK 3-Day Challenge

Rhonda Graham, Teddy Henley, and Nichelle Wileman took on the 60-mile Susan G. Komen Walk in San Diego, completing 42 miles and raising over $10,000 for breast cancer research.

Empowering the Next Generation

We believe every child deserves the tools to succeed, whether in the classroom or on the playground.

  • Back-to-School Success: In New Orleans, we stuffed 100+ backpacks for the Youth Empowerment Project. In Charlotte, we provided 2,400 Band-Aids and 139 school uniforms to local elementary and middle schools.

  • Building Community: The NOLA team repainted the basketball courts at LH Marrero Middle School, saving the school over $700 in labor.

  • STEAM Kits: Our Corporate Marketing team assembled kits for Dreams for Schools to inspire the technologists of tomorrow.

Creative Compassion & Holiday Spirit

Sometimes, a small gesture makes the biggest impact. Our teams used their creativity to send messages of hope across the globe.

  • Handmade Hope: We crafted nearly 100 custom greeting cards for Operation Gratitude (Military/First Responders) and Cardz for Kidz.

  • The Giving Era: Our CREW team made friendship bracelets for children at New Braunfels Christian Ministries, while our San Jose team made dog toys from recycled shirts for the Humane Society.

  • Holiday Magic: Through Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army Kroc Center, we fulfilled thousands of holiday wishes, processed 1,700 Angel Tree tags, and donated over $500 in new toys.
